Requirements for Packaging Containers
Supported Operating Systems
Windows XP SP3 (32-bit), Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit), Windows 8 (32 and 64-bit) & Windows 10 (64-bit)
Windows Server 2003 SP2 (32-bit), 2008 (32-bit and 64-bit) and 2008 R2 (64-bit), Windows Server 2012 R2 (64-bit) and Windows Server 2016 (64-bit)
.NET: Microsoft .NET 4.0 Client Profile, or later
Windows XP and Server 2003: Require Hotfix https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/938397/applications-that-use-the-cryptography-api-cannot-validate-an-x.509-certificate-in-windows-server-2003
Internet Explorer on Windows XP and Server 2003: Enable TLS 1.0
Memory: as per the packaged apps requirements, minimum of 2 GB
Processor: as per the packaged apps requirements, recommend 2 CPUs
Disk Space: 10 GB required for creating the snapshots the size of the Container will depend upon the number of redirections and will be 10% to 50% larger than the application being packaged.
Build VM: Recommend a clean build Virtual Machine with anti-virus installed.
Test machine: with the same OS, AD policies, anti-virus software and management agents e.g. Citrix VDA as the production environment.
Recommended packaging environment is 32-bit OS VM, unless the software is specifically 64-bit.
Package applications on their supported operating system, for example if the application only supports Windows XP or Windows 2003 then package on these operating systems.
Anti-virus may be left running during packaging, click 'Retry' during packaging if files are flagged as in-use by the anti-virus software.
32-bit on 64-bit
Do not package 32-bit software on a 64-bit OS.
Access to management hypervisor is only required if you wish to Stop / Start / Revert machines and take snapshots, and manipulate the disk state depending of non-persistent disks if you wish to create VM restore points.
