This article summarises the changes and new features made to Cloudhouse Alchemy released throughout March 2022.

AppAcceleratorV

New Features

AppAcceleratorV 4.6.2203.27922 (released 4th March 2022)

  • Logging improved for the LegacySetSecurityDescriptor Compatibility Feature
  • New RedirectCreateProcess Compatibility Feature
  • New ProcessFilter Compatibility Feature to mitigate RCE vulnerabilities
  • New ShowLoaderSnaps Compatibility Feature to create additional 'debug' logs in AAV when started in a particular mode.

Fixes

AppAcceleratorV 4.6.2203.27922 (released 4th March 2022)

  • Resolved an issue with the ForceExternalManifest Compatibility Feature not working when an application is launched as a child process.
  • Resolved an issue with child processes crashing when the CreateProcess argument specifies a folder.

AppAcceleratorV 4.6.2203.27941 (released 22nd March 2022)

  • Resolved a SQL 2005 access violation issue.

Auto Packager

New Features

4.6.2203.27633 (released 31st March 2022)

  • Updated AAV Features list to include new ProcessFilter and ShowLoaderSnaps Compatibility Features.
  • Updated AAV to version 4.6.2203.27922, version of Compatibility Package binaries to 4.6.2203.27941, and the Cloudhouse logo.

Compatibility Packages

Fixes

4.6.2203.3368 (released 17th March 2022)

  • Resolved an issue with the Compatibility Package requiring Administrator rights to run to verify if services are running.

4.6.2203.3378 (released 24th March 2022)

  • Resolved an issue with enabling support for TLS 1.2 on some legacy operating systems.

Reverse Packaging Studio

New Features

1.0.2202.1870 (released 2nd March 2022)

  • The .NET patch is no longer required to run on XP.
  • DACL is now converted to readable format in the Details panel.

1.0.2203.2007 (released 31st March 2022)

  • Matching filters for children of squashed directories are now displayed (matches registry behaviour).
  • Debug logs have been added to optionally record the performance of manual actions.
  • Ability to create a report on Unique Procmon Entries (UPEs) added.

Fixes

1.0.2202.1870 (released 2nd March 2022)

  • Fixed the selection/deselection performance issue introduced in the last release.

1.0.2203.2007 (released 31st March 2022)

  • Incorrect matching filters can now be disabled from being displayed.
  • Speed improvements to registry processing.

Advisories

Advisory 1

Alchemy's Compatibility Package Editor should only be used to update applications, files, and registry redirections on the same architecture on which the original Compatibility Package was created. For example, if the Compatibility Package was created on an x86 machine, then the Compatibility Package Editor must be run on an x86 machine to update the Compatibility Package.
