This article summarises the changes and new features made to Cloudhouse Alchemy throughout March 2023.

AppAcceleratorV

4.6.2302.27510 (released 2nd March 2023)

New Features

  • Logic added to the Dynamic Hooking Compatibility Feature for 64-bit applications and mixed 64/32-bit applications.

Fixes

  • Resolved an issue with incorrect behaviour if an application uses Winapi methods with an empty quoted path string.

4.6.2303.27563 (released 29th March 2023)

New Features

  • Support RedirectOnAccessDenied switch for registry paths when using PackageIsolation feature.
  • Cater for hard and soft symlinks.
  • Create a 64-bit template callback module.

Auto Packager

4.6.2303.25997 (released 9th March 2023)

New Features

  • Package Runtimes updated to version 4.6.2302.3096
  • AAV updated to version 4.6.2302.27510

Fixes

  • Resolved an issue with Auto Packager crashing if the Compatibility Package includes a shortcut with a path length exceeding 219 characters. 
  • Resolved an issue with Auto Packager hanging when leaving the Runtime Analysis screen.

New Features

  • ProgData format updated to support multi-drive packaging in the future
  • Package Runtimes updated to version 4.6.2303.3121

Fixes

  • Resolved an issue with Auto Packager crashing when the user closes the application during Complete Capture stage.

Package Runtimes

4.6.2303.3121 (released 16th March 2023)

New Features

  • %RootHive% variable is now supported in Package Runtimes.

4.6.2303.26720 (released 29th March 2023)

New Features

  • RootHive process environment variable is now created for use in AAV.
  • Configurable RootHives are now supported via the --roothive argument.

Packages

4.6.2302.3096 (released 1st March 2023)

New Features

  • Ability to lock a Compatibility Package for different types of environments.

Fixes

  • Resolved an issue with COM+ components not updating when a Compatibility Package is updated.
  • Resolved an issue with Control Panel Entries not being updated when a Compatibility Package is updated

Advisories

Advisory 1

Alchemy's Compatibility Package Editor should only be used to update applications, files, and registry redirections on the same architecture on which the original Compatibility Package was created. For example, if the Compatibility Package was created on an x86 machine, then the Compatibility Package Editor must be run on an x86 machine to update the Compatibility Package.
